My MRT-Pinoy Pao Franchise Adventure

I'm excited being back to work.  Especially that we already have opened our first branch of Pinoy Pao.  I went straight to Guadalupe Mart One to see the new stall.

But just a few days after my first day of work, I encountered a really difficult and funny situation.

I was told to buy stocks from Filtrepreneur.  Some Siopao, Siomai, Ham and Cheese, Siopao Sauce, etc.  My friend told me to estimate what I could carry, since I will be riding the MRT. Despite the warn, I thought, hmmm... I think I can carry everything.  But when I finally bought all of the orders,  it was too late to return some of the orders.  It was good that I was able to borrow a small trolley from my friend.

So the start of my journey towards MRT.  Filtrepreneur was relatively near MRT Santolan station.  But at that moment, it was the farthest walk I've ever took.    I have to literally walk on the road since the sidewalk is not smooth.  After a seemingly endless walk with a very heavy load in both hands, I finally arrived at the MRT station.  I have to ride an elevator, cross at the other side before I was able to ride the MRT.  It was a relieving feeling when I was inside the train.  When suddenly, a lady voice announced,

"Next station... Araneta Cubao... Ang susunod na estasyon... Araneta Cubao..."

Woah!!! It suddenly dawned on me... I was riding in the wrong direction!  I should not have crossed the other side!  My direction was supposedly going South, but I rode the opposite side, which is going to the North!  Oh No!

I just decided to go to the end of the station.  I clumsily went out of the train, and went outside.  I looked for the elevator, since I need to go up and again cross the other side of the station.  I could not find an elevator!  This is not good!!!  I was going to call for desperate help, when, at the corner of my eye, I saw the elevator! Wow!!!

Elevator!!!  Finally!  So I went up, and crossed to the other side.  Then I rode the MRT again.

It was a great relief when I reached Guadalupe Commercial Complex.  I walked inside the mall.  I want to collapse due to the very very heavy load, but I managed to walk further more and  reach our store.

Whew!  That was one tiring adventure! I don't want to do that again!

Vacation at Plaridel, Misamis Occidental - Ang Mga Kinakusgan

After a few misunderstanding, shouting, etc. among my relatives, we finally decided that it would be Moon River Beach.  Hmmm... Moon River Beach.... That's weird... I thought that it was a river and not a sea.
The event was a success, despite all the shouts.

There were lots of singing and picture taking.  And of course there were lots of great food!  I had a quick catch-up with my cousins and aunts.   We really had a great time.  It was a fantastic reunion.  The last time I saw my cousins was when we were still kids.  I do hope we could have another reunion soon.

Watch this great event that took place at Moon River Beach,  Plaridel Misamis Occidental.

Philippine Election 2010 -- Too Bad For Me

Today, May 10, 2010, is one of the most remarkable day for Philippines.  This day is our National Election.  The wonderful part?  This is the first time that we would experience an automated election.  We would be using Smartmatic TIM PCOS machines. It is really amazing!  No more manual counting!  No more tallying of sheets using Manila papers.  Most of the teachers would no longer experience the overnight counting of the ballots.

Months before the election,  I was already very excited about this automated election.  They were already talking about it.   We need to shade the "bilog na hugis itlog" beside the candidate that we will be voting.  And after, we would insert this in the Smartmatic PCOS machines.  And we need to be really careful as to shade the entire "bilog"  and not to include the space outside the "bilog".  This would cause an invalid vote.  And you can vote only once! We were really excited at the same time scared.  Questions arise.  What if our votes will be invalid?  What if there are bugs there?  Is it safe?  Is it credible?

Well... We'll just have to have trust on the people behind this project.  We'll just have to trust God that everything will be Ok.

2 weeks before the most awaited moment -- the election,  I suddenly caught chicken pox!  Oh no!  Now there is no chance for me to vote!  I don't think I'm able to travel before the election since my chicken pox is still contagious .  I don't think I could experience the very first automated election in the Philippines!  I don't think I could experience the very first time in using the PCOS machine!  Nor shade the "bilog na hugis itlog"!
Why??? Why now???

All I could do now is just sigh...  For the whole day, I just spent my day watching the news.   For the whole day, I just watched the people who are able to vote.

Well, the only thing to do today is just to Hope and Pray that there will be a peaceful and successful election.  Hope and Pray that Philippines will really move forward to become a better Nation.
